As Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) endures further horrifying torture at the hands of Tom King (James Chase) in Emmerdale, many viewers are left wondering: who will rescue Belle?
Should we really be asking whether she will even survive?, because Tom is doing all in his power to keep her alone so that those closest to her won’t find out.
Additionally, he is making a lot of effort to disseminate the notion that she is the abuser and coerce her into thinking that everything is her fault.
However, there’s one astute Dingle who may be able to help.
Most recently, Tom took over Belle’s financial accounts and intensified his reign of terror by hitting his wife in the stomach and turning his disgusting behaviour into physical assault.
He admits Belle to the hospital in the most recent story of his horror show.
Now that she has seen him for what he is, Belle refuses to give Tom another chance to get close to her when she has the option to have a visitor in the hospital.
Rather, she makes a very important request: that Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) visit the hospital.
This stops Tom cold since it indicates he is about to be exposed. It’s imperative that he quickly change course.
Tom panics when he can’t manage things, so he quickly rushes back to the drawing board to figure out how to regain control as soon as possible.
He has to make Lydia quit seeing Belle no matter what.
Lydia has experienced a great deal, so she understands what it’s like to be abused.
Despite Tom’s efforts to undermine Belle, there’s little question that she will accept her story.
Will Lydia discover the truth at last?
