There will be fresh scenes involving Joel Deering and Nathan Curtis on Coronation Street next week, and teasers indicate we will learn what happened to Lauren Bolton.

Fans of Coronation Street are certain that they have discovered a hidden connection between two characters, and that this might reveal Lauren Bolton’s killer on the ITV soap opera.

After going missing in February and having her apartment destroyed and blood discovered inside, Lauren is presumed dead. Investigators discovered signs of a vicious attack, such as a bloody weapon where it seemed she had been struck in the head.

Even though there was no body discovered Roy Cropper is accused of killing Lauren, who is thought to be dead. However, many are certain that someone else is the murderer, and recent revelations may have validated some of their suspicions.

Some fans have also questioned if Joel Deering and Nathan Curtis are related, as both are predicted to be the murderer or to have at least attacked her. Following speculation that they were brothers or related via the child sex grooming group Nathan formerly belonged to, people now think the most recent spoilers hint that there is definitely a connection.

As the evidence against Nathan grows, teasers reveal that he is brought in for interrogation by investigators ahead of the terrible truth being revealed in next week’s special episodes. However, in an unexpected turn of events, Joel is revealed to be Nathan’s attorney, which infuriates the locals.

But is Joel’s assistance to him motivated by anything else, and does this indicate that they could be connected secretly? Fans undoubtedly think so, and they’ve said that Joel is probably assisting Nathan in getting closer to the crime scene so he can hide his tracks as the true murderer.

“This reads as though it’s Joel I fear,” a fan said on X. Another person concurred: “Not sure now about Nathan and Joel being brothers… but hearing Joel’s representing Nathan could be something actually.”

A fourth fan wrote: “When I read ‘When Bethany shows Ellie a picture of Nathan, will she confirm that it was him’, my brain instantly said it’s not gonna be a picture of Nathan it’s gonna be a picture of Joel.” A third reader simply asked, “Joel?”
