Coronation Street shock new arrest made as Lauren’s ki*ler is finally revealed

Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt has been left unnerved ever since she learnt that her former sex abuser Nathan Curtis was released from prison.

Fans of Coronation Street can expect to see Tina O’Brien’s character Sarah Platt go to considerable measures in an attempt to permanently remove Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) from Weatherfield. According to official ITV soap opera spoilers, Sarah and her daughter Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) immediately call the police.

Bethany says she doesn’t feel comfortable in Weatherfield and threatens to leave again, especially with her past abuser lurking about the cobbles. Sarah makes the decision to see Nathan since she doesn’t want her kid to go.

Sarah reminds Nathan that he took £10,000 to get out of town at the construction site. But when he laughs in her face, she becomes enraged and decides to do vengeance.

Subsequently, Sarah comes back with a plastic bag containing Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) hair bobble, which she had left at the Platts. But when Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) catches her in the act, her plot is foiled.

Sarah is compelled to confess that she intended to hide Lauren’s hair bobble in Nathan’s truck in order to establish proof that he killed Lauren after being caught red-handed. Kit begs Sarah to trust the police to find the individual who killed Lauren and let them do their job.

News that Nathan has been arrested breaks later in the week. Did Sarah plant proof of her guilt and disregard Kit’s warning? Or have they found evidence that links Nathan to the crime?

Regretfully, the book Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was reading lay wet in tea with a shattered spine, suggesting that his agony in jail looks to be ongoing.

Nathan’s arrest occurs just before a significant overhaul of the soap opera is planned for next week, when viewers will finally discover Lauren’s true story.

Coronation Street typically airs three evenings a week, but as the dramatic plot wraps up, the show will now air across five nights.

The same day will be seen through the perspective of several persons engaged in Lauren’s life in the first four episodes. Then, in Friday’s episode, the week comes to a close as a new day breaks and the mystery surrounding Lauren’s destiny keeps becoming revealed.

Executive producer Iain MacLeod said, “This week is so gripping and unlike anything Coronation Street has done before, in terms of the story-telling,” in reference to the impending scenes.

“It features some of our favourite characters right in the midst of the drama and is modern and really exciting.” We’ve all been gripped by the murder mystery surrounding Lauren, and this week’s race against time to solve it before Roy suffers a terrible injury is really compelling and well-written.

“If you want to keep trying to solve this exciting puzzle, you really won’t want to miss it, as it is also the launchpad for a massive new chapter in that narrative.”
