Disaster for fans as no soaps will air tonight with Coronation Street and Emmerdale pulled from schedules

As part of a scheduling change, ITV will not be airing Coronation Street or Emmerdale this evening, June 14.

Typically, we visit Emmerdale Village every weekday at 7:30 p.m. after the ITV News, and we usually visit the Corrie cobbles on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 p.m.

But tonight, football has taken their place—you got it—in lieu of them. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the UEFA European Football Championship 2024 will cause a month-long interruption to our cherished soap opera episodes.

The tournament is conducted every four years, although the coronavirus pandemic forced the last one to be held in 2021.

We are currently only aware of events taking place during the next two weeks since schedules are only released thus far in advance. There will be fifty-one matches in all.

First up, Australia plays France on Monday, July 17, and Scotland plays Germany in the host city of Munich.

The next time we check in with the people living in Weatherfield and Emmerdale is on Tuesday, the 18th, when each programme will run for an hour.

In the Dales, Matty (Ash Palmisciano) is visited by Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) in jail after he was mistakenly imprisoned for stabbing Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).

As far as we know, Samson was pushed onto the knife by his friend Josh (Osian Morgan), which resulted in the disaster.

In another scene, Belle King (Eden Taylor-Draper), who plans to abort her pregnancy due to her violent and manipulative husband Tom (James Chase), sees a midwife. Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) will be inspired by Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) to stand up for her relationship with Charles (Kevin Mathrin).

On the Street, Leanne (Jane Danson) keeps cutting herself off from the outside world while Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) suffers on the day of baby Rose’s burial and turns to Nick (Ben Price) once again for solace.

Regarding daughter Summer’s (Harriet Bibby) new boyfriend, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) says some dubious things, while Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) is appalled by Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) new writing assignment.

The wait will be worthwhile!
