Fan reactions to news of a reunion from Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment have left some fans ‘feeling old’. The actor is well-known for playing Kirk Sutherland in the ITV soap opera for almost 20 years, but he is also well-known for another role.

Andy’s most well-known role before he started regularly appearing on the well-known street in 2000 was most likely that of Darren Sinclair-Jones in the beloved BBC smash comedy The Royle Family.

During the weekend, Andy disclosed that he had a great time getting back together with Ralf Little, the man behind the beloved BBC sitcom Antony Royle, which aired for three series between 1998 and 2000 and specials between 2006 and 2012.

After playing a charity football match together, the two smiled for a photo that Andy enjoyed posting to his 382,000 Instagram followers.

“Nice to catch up with @ralf.little @jet2pics AllStars charity game at Monton Football Club, can’t believe,” the soap star said with the photo. Time certainly does fly: 25 years have passed since we first met while filming The Royle Family.

Following his message, his fans and following responded right away. Says @lee_ablett1974: “Certainly! Anthony and Darren! ” In response, @cianbanahan15 said: “Two legends.” “Love this!” echoed @oshman_81. Two myths. Laughing, @cazlancs said, “Now I feel old Andy, thanks.”
