Coronation Street spoilers: Sarah and Carla at war after surprise decision

Difficult decisions are made (Picture: ITV)

Todd Boyce’s character, killer Stephen Reid, had emptied the Underworld bank account prior to his reign of terror in Coronation Street.

He accomplished this by coercing Ryan Russell’s character Michael Bailey into granting him access to the account. After obtaining that, he moved all of the money into an account he had created specifically for that use.

When Allison King’s character, Carla Connor, the owner of a factory, realized what had happened, she was understandably incensed at Michael for having allowed himself to be used in Stephen’s scheme to ruin her company.

Carla faced the possibility of her business failing since the factory’s insurance would not cover the loss due to Michael’s disclosure of the information to Stephen.

Tina O’Brien’s character Sarah was left in charge by Carla, who was leaving for Spain in an attempt to broker a deal that would keep Underworld afloat. Carla also instructed Sarah to fire Michael right away.

Sarah reluctantly followed the instructions, which devastated Michael. He attempted to defend himself by claiming that he had some more helpful design ideas, but Sarah had given the go-ahead.

After Michael accepted his fate, Dee Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) persuaded him to fight harder for his job. When he presented Sarah with new evidence, she changed her mind and gave him his job back.

Up next, Carla is initially unhappy upon returning from her trip to Spain because the factory hasn’t received any new orders as a result of it. She becomes enraged with Sarah upon learning that Michael is still employed there.

Sarah is refusing to back down this time and is adamant that Stephen, not Michael, is to blame for what occurred.

Even after Michael tells Carla he’s working on some new designs that seem really promising, Carla isn’t persuaded. However, Carla realizes that Michael’s designs might be exactly what she needs to seal the deal when a potential new client shows up for a meeting and asks him to bring his portfolio.

In the event that his designs impress the new customer, will she look back and be happy Sarah kept Michael at the factory?
