EXCLUSIVE: Since Peter Barlow killed serial killer Stephen Reid, Carla Connor and the show’s viewers have witnessed a deterioration in their relationship.
One Coronation Street couple appears to be headed for heartbreak in Weatherfield.
Todd Boyce’s character Peter Barlow, portrayed by Chris Gascoyne, has had difficulty accepting his death ever since he shot serial killer Stephen Reid.
Along with Stephen stealing thousands of pounds from the account, viewers of the ITV soap opera have also witnessed his wife Carla Connor (Alison King) attempt to save Underworld.
Even though audiences have seen the pair pull together through difficult times, soap opera star Alison King said that their growing dependence on one another is starting to become problematic.
“It’s always kind of worked with their drinking and all the rest and they have known how to deal with each other’s demons,” she added in an interview with Express.co.uk and other media outlets. However, I believe it’s starting to become a minor problem.
She is unsure about her desire to follow his lead.
“He has another thing he wants to do, but he wants to do it with her. However, I doubt that she can. I believe that she is probably experiencing this for the first time and it is startling her.
Given that Peter is on the verge of leaving Carla behind, Alison suggested that their future may be difficult.
The serial star acknowledged that Peter is the one who realises her spouse would be better off away from the cobblestones, when asked when is Carla’s realisation of this.
