Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) have been having an adulterous relationship in Emmerdale, but their obscene actions have come to an end with the recent entrance of Caleb’s wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
Earlier this week, Caleb was taken aback by the appearance of his wife, with whom he is presently divorcing. But things took a turn when Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) cut short their unexpected passion.
Nate was certain Tracy was having an affair with Caleb after checking through her phone, so he set out to find them both in the act.
But the sight of Caleb and Ruby totally confused him, and in later scenes, he admitted to spying on Tracy’s phone and apologised to her for his misgivings.
Tracy was appalled and obviously felt violated when he disclosed that he knew she couldn’t be sleeping with Caleb since his wife had returned.
Tracy and Nate later ran into Caleb, Ruby, and their son Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) as they were getting ready to leave the home. After an uncomfortable meeting, the pair was asked to drinks at the Woolpack, where Ruby was going to meet the family.
Despite Ruby’s repeated introductions as Caleb’s wife, he made care to inform his family members that they were divorcing, a fact that Ruby was obviously unprepared for.
When Nicky inquired about the reason for his mother’s return to the family, she disclosed that an intervention was necessary to prevent the divorce from proceeding.
In the meanwhile, Caleb made an effort to reassure Tracy that Ruby wouldn’t be around for very long and that he shared her displeasure with her presence.
For Tracy, however, it was too little, too late, as she questioned the purpose of yesterday.
Tracy abruptly ended their romance, shocking Caleb by saying that it was rich coming from her after she had spent all of her time “fawning over Nate” in front of him.
She persuaded Nate to accompany her by making up an excuse about having a headache, so Caleb was unable to stop her from leaving.
