Coronation Street spoilers: Roy Cropper’s rant over murdered Lauren Bolton puts him deeper in the frame

In Coronation Street, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) continues to cast himself in the shadows for the alleged murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), raising doubts about his future.

character with issues A few weeks ago, Lauren vanished. DS Swain (Vicky Myers) believes she was murdered even though her body hasn’t been seen yet because of the blood found in her flat and the strange way she appeared to vanish out of thin air.

DS Swain and Craig’s (Colson Smith) inquiry took them to the cafe to meet with Roy after they had a conversation with Bobby (Jack Carroll).

The adored character was honest when he said he cleaned Lauren’s flat to assist Evelyn (Maureen Lipman), but he neglected to account for the fact that not everyone, including Swain, would accept his story.

Unaware that an online detective is listening in on their chat, Roy informs Yasmeen (Shelley King) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher) in the cafe after his arrest that he has been asked to return to the police station to be interrogated.

Meanwhile, Max (Paddy Bever) chooses to surreptitiously visit Reece in prison after overhearing David (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona (Julia Goulding) debate about the possibility of Lauren’s dad’s far-right group being involved.

Roy returns to the cafe and finds himself alone, save for two suspicious individuals seated at a table. Roy knows he’s in danger when one of them gets up and locks the door.

The following week, Nina is horrified to learn that some investigators have been searching the bat roost site in an attempt to uncover anything that might implicate Roy in Lauren’s death.

Roy packs shovels and garbage bags into the boot of his car and drives to the roost site, expecting all will be OK.

But when he comes back, Swain is waiting for him, prepared to take him to the station.

Poor Roy keeps making things worse for himself; later, at Lauren’s vigil, he speaks to the crows and expresses his affection for the young woman. Shortly after, some boys start photographing him with their phones and making offensive remarks.

When things get out of control, Evelyn, Nina, and Carla (Alison King) advise Roy to remain quiet until the authorities ascertain Lauren’s true fate and the identity of her killer.

Will Roy, though, pay attention?

Or will he keep unintentionally giving the impression that he is acting with malice?
