In recent Emmerdale scenes, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) fought back against abuser Tom King (James Chase), letting her wrath run wild.

When Tom lost it and broke the urn holding Lisa Dingle’s ashes at Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) birthday celebration, Belle was horrified.

Belle made the decision to walk home and spend the night in the spare room after he angrily warned her to keep away from his car because she was now coated in ashes and muck.

Tom gave Belle a hard time the next morning, calling the urn’s destruction “an accident” and accusing her of “changing the narrative to fit her victim mentality.”

Belle told Tom she didn’t have time for this chat before work, which caused Tom walk out in an angry manner. Tom had been dwelling on how the situation had made him feel the entire time, completely ignoring Belle’s feelings.

She questioned him about his attitude later and said that she was devastated about her mother’s ashes; however, Tom once again played the victim by claiming that he had also recently lost his mother.

As their disagreement grew more heated, Belle finally yelled that she detested Tom and then hurried off to work.

Mandy Dingle and Suzy Merton (Lisa Riley and Martelle Edinborough) sensed that something wasn’t right in the salon, and soon Belle was telling them about the fight but omitting important information regarding Tom’s actions.

After the two women recommended that she take the day off to talk to her husband, Belle returned to the veterinarian, where Tom gave her a cold reception.

Twisting the narrative once further, he disclosed that he had reserved a hotel room for the evening, claiming that Belle had requested privacy.

When Tom was putting his bags outside, Belle urged him to stay, even though he was sure he was leaving.

At that point, Tom seemed to give in and consent to cancel the reservation, but viewers quickly realised he had been lying to her.

Rather than dialling the hotel he had purportedly reserved, he proceeded to dial his own voicemail and feigned a conversation with the receptionist.

At that moment, he revealed that they would be retaining his “deposit,” which only served to increase Belle’s sense of guilt.

Will Belle ever discover the truth about Tom’s lies?
