ITV Coronation Street spoilers reveal Roy Cropper ‘exit’ update leading to sad goodbye

Corrie’s Roy Cropper is left broken in upcoming scenes amid some news about his arrest for Lauren Bolton’s murder, as spoilers tease an update could seal his departure from the ITV soap

Coronation Street fans will see Roy Cropper prepare for life behind bars, with an update in his case leaving his loved ones devatsated.

The character was recently arrested for the murder of missing Lauren Bolton, after officers believed evidence pointed to him as being her killer. Upcoming scenes will see detectives charge Roy with murder and he’s led away.

Spoilers for next week reveal sad scenes on the way and hints of an exit, as he emotionally prepares to say goodbye to his family and his life on the cobbles. With Roy broken in his cell, it’s up to his solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey to try and secure his freedom and prove Roy is innocent.

But an exit could be on the cards amid speculation the character will be sent to prison, as he faces tough questioning once more. Roy accepts defeat though before he’s even faced court, and he asks Dee-Dee for a request.

Handed a piece of paper and an envelope, Roy begins to write. Soon, the CPS barrister paints Roy as a murderer with a violent past in the courtroom during Roy’s bail hearing.

As past crimes come to light, Dee-Dee panics as it’s not looking good for Roy. Dee-Dee hurries over and hands Nina a letter from Roy, that we saw him write previously.

But Nina is devastated as she realises it’s a sad goodbye from Roy, who believes he’s going to prison. The letter leaves Nina, Evelyn and Carla fighting back tears as they fear this is it for Roy, with him saying his farewells.

It’s soon Dee-Dee’s turn to stand and put forward her case, and she urges the Judge to grant Roy bail. But she and Roy are left devastated when the judge refuses the application and orders that he be held in custody until his trial.

With Dee-Dee unable to secure Roy’s freedom, she soon delivers the news to his loved ones. The cast were recently seen filming what looked to be court scenes on location, with Roy and Dee-Dee there – so will Roy be forced to stay in custody for weeks or months before his fate is confirmed?
