Fans of Coronation Street are often devastated by street tragedies, but when one of Weatherfield’s cherished four-legged inhabitants is harmed, chaos ensues. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Roy Cropper’s most recent development has generated such a stir.

As fans of the ITV soap opera are aware, Roy is now serving a jail sentence after Detective Lisa Swain declared Roy to be her man and accused him of killing Lauren Bolton. On February 23, the youngster abruptly vanished after exhibiting strange conduct for many weeks that was connected to a “mystery boyfriend.”

When Bobby, her new buddy and love interest, filed a missing persons report, nobody seemed to be really concerned about the fact that she was absent. But things quickly turned around when blood was discovered in the apartment she had lived in, and she enlisted Swain’s help to investigate Lauren’s abduction.

And because he was the last person to see Lauren alive before he foolishly deep-cleaned her apartment in an attempt to support his friend Evelyn Plummer, who was subleasing the same apartment, Roy, the owner of the café, swiftly rose to the top of DS Swain’s suspect list.

Roy is now incarcerated as his family and friends fight for his innocence since he was accused and his bail was denied. Watchers observed Sam Blakeman, Roy’s teenage chess-playing buddy, come at the café on Monday night, April 22, to pick up Freddie the dog, after he had assured Nina Lucas he would walk him before school.

Unbeknownst to Sam, one of the online detectives who has been pursuing Roy is observing from a table in the corner. Soon after, a distressed Sam was spotted heading back to Roy’s Rolls without Freddie, apologising for running off.

Reluctantly staying behind to tend to the diner, Evelyn Plummer remained behind as Nina quickly headed out to find him. With no success in finding him, Nina had some assistance from Toyah Battersby, and they were concerned about what the news may do to Roy.

However, later on, while at the café, Nina, Evelyn, and Asha Alahan viewed a video that had been released by an online detective revealing that they had held Freddie hostage and that Roy would have to confess to Lauren’s murder in order to ensure his safe return.

Corrie fans were quick to go to social media after the scenes to voice their opinions, and they want Freddie to be safeguarded at all costs. @WhoPotterVian stated: “Even the Joker from the Batman comics would scowl and declare that holding Freddie the dog captive is too harsh. #Corrie.

“Not having that… do what you like to a human, but leave the f**king dog alone,” yelled @tina0402x. #FreeCorrie Roy Corrie has gone too far in this situation with #Freddie Free.” “I don’t care what happens, but leave poor Freddie out of it,” said @JenRandall6.#DontHurtFreddieTheDog #Corrie.”

Roy is one thing, but Freddie the dog—that’s another level!—posted on @ManaboutLdn. I hate you, @itvcorrie #Corrie. “I won’t watch #Corrie again if anything has happened to Freddie,” said @sparkysue. “I’m not ok with Freddie going missing…#Corrie,” said @teenamassam.
