REAL LIFE Death In Paradise star Don Gilet’s glamorous off-camera life with actress ex & celeb pals as EastEnders star joins show
He has appeared in a slew of hit British TV shows
DEAD Actor Don Gilet seems to be joining Saint Marie as a new investigator in Paradise.
The popular BBC crime series actor Ralf Little has been replaced with the EastEnders star.
The 57-year-old is most known for his role as Walford’s preacher Lucas Johnson, a serial murderer.
Don will portray Detective Inspector Mervin Wilson, a London native who comes to Saint Marie.
Before the 14th season premieres in 2025, the actor will make his on-screen debut for viewers during this year’s Death in Paradise Christmas special.
Outside of the spotlight, Don has a rather glitzy existence with friends who are famous and a few noteworthy romantic relationships.
Hollywood Power
Don has starred in a big Hollywood picture with an amazing performance, despite being a TV regular.
The actor and actress costarred in the action thriller The Beekeeper with Jason Statham.
For the movie success, he had to take on the accent of an American deputy director, Prigg.
The Beekeeper chronicles a man’s quest for revenge upon the revelation that he was formerly an agent of the influential Beekeepers group.
Celebrity Pals
Don is most known for playing the murderous villain Lucas Johnson in EastEnders.
Despite frightening his on-screen spouse Denise Fox during his tenure on the soap opera, he and actress Diane Parish developed a close connection.
Before the Walford-based soap opera, they collaborated on Babyfather, and they remain in constant communication to this day.
When she paid him a visit in jail earlier this year, fans even saw their reunion on TV.
TV Success
It is reasonable to assume that Death in Paradise, which seems to be his next big major programme, is not the first time he has made an impression on British television.
In the BBC series 55 Degrees North, he portrayed Detective Sergeant Nicky Cole in the principal role from 2004 to 2005.
He also costarred with Catherine Tate and David Tennant in the well-known Doctor Who episode The Runaway Bride.
You may be excused, however, if you don’t exactly recall his TV debut. He debuted on a 1998 episode of the dating series Streetmate, when he was interviewed for a friend who was hoping to find love.
Keeping it low-key
Regarding his personal life and relationships, Don has a well-known reputation for keeping things private.
He had a kid named Flynn with actress Tracy Whitwell, with whom he was previously married, although they were seldom ever photographed together.
Although they cohabited in Bedfordshire, they have now parted ways.
He has recently been connected to Benidorm and Happy Valley actress Siobhan Finneran after they were seen holding hands, although none of them has acknowledged a romantic relationship.
