Emmerdale spoilers: Broken Mack makes huge decision about missing Chloe

Has he given up? (Picture: ITV)

Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is currently a broken man because each search for Chloe (Jessie Elland) and Reuben in Emmerdale ends in a dead end.

In the most recent episode of “who does Mack really love?”, a lengthy narrative in which he has repeatedly switched between the two women, Chloe disappeared from the village with the child after Mackenzie cruelly dumped her and went back to Charity (Emma Atkins).

This time, he claims to be positive about two things: first, that Charity is the person he genuinely loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with; and second, that he is fervently seeking regular contact and a continuing relationship with his infant son Reuben.

He was dejected in the episode airing on Tuesday, December 5, when Charity informed him that Ryan (James Moore) had failed to locate any information regarding Chloe’s whereabouts on social media.

Charity made an effort to reassure him that Chloe would eventually “do the right thing” and grant him access to Reuben. If not, they would manage to locate her.

Mack informed her that his only remaining hope was for Matty (Ash Palmisciano) to know something and inform him, but it was obvious that this would not occur. In an attempt to locate Chloe and the child, he had exhausted all other options.

He has therefore made a choice. He was going to give up the struggle, take a seat back, and wait for Chloe to come back. He claimed that he had been so consumed with finding Chloe that he had neglected Charity and Moses (Arthur Cockroft).

Later, while looking for clues, Mack apologised to Matty and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) when he and Charity ran into them in the village. He informed them that he would no longer be looking for Chloe.

He said, “I just want to move on and put it behind me,” and he asked them to follow suit. Amy reluctantly said she agreed, as did Matty.

Mack is unaware that Amy and Matty are fully aware of Chloe’s location, and Amy has even paid her a visit in her Leeds flat.

Even though Mackenzie has made the decision to stop looking, there will still be surprises because Matty feels sorry for his uncle and provides a clue that might lead to a breakthrough.
