Coronation Street spoilers: Daniel takes drastic action amid Daisy and Ryan cheating scandal

Is Daniel up to something? (Picture: ITV)

In recent scenes on Coronation Street, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) came dangerously close to learning Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) secret. Tonight, November 3, the show saw him act decisively upon learning the truth.

After agreeing to meet at the Chariot Square Hotel, Daisy told Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) that she really wanted to be with Daniel, and she called the whole thing off.

It was a close call, with Daniel circling the hallway outside their room, but they were able to escape without being discovered.

Daisy devised a complex lie to hide her tracks, involving her mother Christina (Amy Robbins), who made a comeback to the show tonight after Daisy requested to speak with her.

After Daisy finished explaining everything, Christina was prepared with a narrative that fit Daisy’s when Daniel called.

Sadly, this did not allay Daniel’s suspicions, and a heated argument broke out when Daisy got home.

Daisy fortunately had the presence of mind to hide her tracks and was able to present receipts from a different hotel attesting to the fact that she had not been with Ryan.

Still, Daniel couldn’t shake an unsettling feeling, so he asked Ryan to explain the true situation to him.

Admitting that he had told Daisy he loved her and explaining that this was the reason for the awkward atmosphere between them, sweet Ryan was quick to throw himself under the bus.

At last, Daniel appeared content and expressed regret to Daisy for assigning her the blame.

But Daisy quickly made things worse when she went to Ryan’s apartment to bid him farewell and express her gratitude, only for Lauren (Cait Fitton) to catch her.

It was evident that Lauren was preoccupied when she later showed up for her tutoring session with Daniel.

Daniel asked her what she didn’t like about The Great Gatsby, the book they were studying, and she replied that it was the fact that everyone was cheating on each other. This got her attention.

Lauren brought up the point that, while Daniel was explaining to the reader why certain characters in the book cheated, the story’s narrator was equally guilty because he was aware of the cheating but chose to remain silent.

Daniel thought they were still discussing the book, but it was obvious Lauren was considering her own role in Daisy and Ryan’s affair. Lauren quickly made the mistake of saying Daisy didn’t deserve to get away with what she had done.

Even though Daisy is a character in The Great Gatsby, it was evident that Lauren wasn’t talking about her, and when Daniel abruptly ended their lesson, stating he had to do something, it was evident that Daniel had finally realized this.

Later, he called Daisy to Redbank Apartments and disclosed his most shocking recent deed: He had listed his mother’s home and made an offer on Elaine’s previous apartment.

Despite Daisy’s obvious discomfort, Daniel insisted that this was their new beginning.

Is Daniel truly prepared to begin again, or is this just a ploy?
