A few well-known characters are returning for Coronation Street’s 2024 premiere, but not all of them are welcome.

Just in time for the New Year, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) returns. However, it becomes evident as she catches up with relatives that she has already been in touch with her ex, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

It’s evident that they are still connected, which is unfortunate for Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).

In another scene, the evil Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) makes a reappearance. Like her daughter, Sarah (Tina O’Brien), he too still has a passion for her past love.

It’s a risky one, and Sam Robertson’s character Adam Barlow is resolved to step in.

Finally, wrongs are put right when the Rovers reopen, capping up 2023 with an unexpectedly happy and festive finale.
