Another major star quits Coronation Street after 15 years amid car crash story

Actor Alex Bain leaves Coronation Street after 15 years of portraying Simon Barlow.

According to reports, the soap star, who joined at the age of seven, will be leaving the cobbles behind in an explosive storyline.

According to a source, 22-year-old Alex is both happy and sad about what comes after the ITV serial opera.

According to them, Alex is sad to be leaving Coronation Street because the cast is truly like a family, but he also knows it’s time to move on, as they told The Sun.

“He’s thrilled about what lies ahead and the opportunities that lie ahead.”

He has been a part of several significant plots throughout the years, such as the drug trade and the passing of his mother Lucy Richards (Katy Carmichael). Simon and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) will be in a car accident in future episodes; the dramatic sequences will premiere in 2019.

Sam, a student at Weatherfield High, is said to receive a lift from Simon, who rushes to get him there in time. But then the car gets into an accident.

Not the only well-known figure departing is Alex, who at the age of 17 became a father to daughter Lydia-Rose with then-girlfriend Levi Selby.

After 23 years, Simon’s father Peter Barlow will depart from Coronation Street in tonight’s episode. Actor Chris Gascoyne chose to step down in an attempt to pursue other possibilities.

After hitting serial killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) with his car and killing him, Peter resolves to leave Weatherfield because it has negatively impacted his mental health.

Filming the parting scenes took two days, and Alison King, who plays his soulmate and wife Carla Connor, acknowledged that she was feeling emotional just thinking about saying goodbye to Chris, 55.

“It was incredible, but those scenes were so emotional that I didn’t need a tear stick,” she recalls.

“Every time we performed it, I would literally burst into tears at various points throughout each scene, overcome with emotion.” Chris is so good at the Meisner technique, which has an actor responding to the performance and demeanour of another actor, that I would become upset if he took on a different look. He reacts so quickly.

That is the reason I have enjoyed working with him so much; the outcome is always what matters. He is incredibly talented every time, and we can do things a thousand different ways in every take. It was just a different path, and the emotional roller coaster is leaving you completely tired.
