Coronation Street fan-favourite has finally returned to the ITV soap after giving birth to her third child last year, as a special new snap of the cast was shared on Instagram
After giving birth to her third child, a girl named Doris, nine months ago, Weatherfield star Fizz Dobbs, played by actress Jenny McAlpine in Coronation Street, has finally made her way back to the cobbles.
The 39-year-old celebrity received her daughter, whom she shares with husband Chris Farr, on April 4 after taking an early maternity leave last year.
Jenny made the decision to keep the details hidden at the moment so that the family may have some peaceful time together before making the public announcement. In August, the actress happily revealed the news in a special interview with OK!
Another few months later, and Fizz has appeared with the rest of her on-set family as actor Alan Halsall shared a filming snap on his Instagram page.
“Family is the heart of the home,” he said. “So happy to be Together again & back to work.”
Subsequently, the official Coronation Street Instagram account reposted the endearing image, gushing in a lovely tale, “welcome back Jen,” and adding, “No 9 back together again.”
Jenny sat for pictures with Alan, Claire Sweeney, Maureen Lipman, who played Evelyn Plummer, and young talents Bella Flanagan and Billie Naylor.
The crew was beaming, smiling in character for yet another day of filming. Jenny, meanwhile, appeared self-assured and overjoyed to be back on the set, flaunting her curly hair in a carefree black attire paired with a patterned top.
Fans and friends praised the snap in the comments, as one person wrote: “Love this picture”
“Amazing! Jen, welcome back,” wrote someone else.
“Gangs back together,” Bella was thrilled when a fourth follower commented: “Aww wow that is a fantastic, terrific and lovely photo of you on the set of Coronation Street with Claire Sweeney, Maureen Lipman, Bella Flanagan, Billie Naylor and Jennie McAlpine there mate”
“The greatest performers. My fave soap,” said one additional admirer.
Over the last year, Jenny has dedicated her attention to her family and her three children, but she recently acknowledged that raising a brood has not always been easy.
In an exclusive interview with OK!, the red-headed actress explained that the most “upsetting” part of her new world is that the children grow up so quickly.
“The most rewarding part of being a mum is seeing them grow really and seeing them grow into the little people that they’re going to be,” the star began.
“The speed is the least rewarding, it’s the most upsetting. It’s like, I want to see you grow, but not that fast,” Jenny added.
Doris is Jennie’s third child with husband Chris Farr. She is already mum to son Albert, eight, and four-year-old daughter Hilda.
