Coronation Street’s Peter Ash sends ‘first day’ message as he offers update on his and Paul Foreman future

The actor has been portraying Paul Foreman in some really devastating sequences since the beginning of the year.

The star of Coronation Street, Peter Ash, updated his fans and followers on his and his character’s future on the cobbles in a “first day” message. Since the beginning of the year, the actor has played some really moving sequences as Paul Foreman deals with his diagnosis of motor neurone disease.

Viewers witnessed the heartbreaking moment when Paul suggested to Todd Grimshaw that he wanted to decide when his life should end as his symptoms caused by the life-limiting disease progressed earlier this month in the ITV soap opera. Billy then found out what Paul had been covertly planning.

Paul started by asking his doctor for more medications, but when Dr. Gaddas refused to write any more prescriptions, Paul turned to Abi Webster, a former drug user. When the time came, Paul asked Abi if she knew anybody who might assist him get the pills he needed to terminate his life. At first, Abi said no. She subsequently had a change of heart, however.

Cassie Plummer witnessed her making the transaction with her previous dealer, and she didn’t waste any time in telling her husband Kevin what she observed. Enraged, he threatened to keep her son Alfie and warned Abi she could never return home. After she was forced to breach her vow to keep Paul’s plan a secret, Kevin visited Paul and told his stunned spouse Billy about Paul’s desperation.

After a tearful exchange, Billy promised to support and be there for his spouse in the event that he decides it is time for him to take his own life. Since then, the pair has continued to do business while both openly concealing a secret.

Fans of Corrie have responded very strongly to the plot, and many are often devastated by the idea of losing Paul and actor Peter off their screens. The serial actor gave them an update by posting a photo of himself backstage at the Salford set on Instagram.

From his dressing room, Peter was seen taking a mirror picture, which he later posted to his social media accounts with the caption, “First day back at work! Not quite done with Paul’s tale yet.” It didn’t take long for his admirers and followers to reply in the comments area with remarks.

“I wish Paul’s story wasn’t ending,” remarked @fn_oreilly. You are an amazing performer, and I really don’t want to see you go. Many thanks from Dublin.” “Will be sad to see you go Peter, you’re one of the best actors in it,” said @lindi.kirwin in a remark. “It’s very sad that you’re leaving Peter,” commented @karensweet59.
