Next week on Coronation Street, a desperate Sam Robertson will go even further as he tries to release Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) by using a cancer patient.

Adam and Harvey met a few weeks earlier, and they came to an agreement that would eventually see Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths), who is now seeing Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), removed.

Adam promised Harvey that as part of the agreement, he would review his case and come up with an appeal strategy.

In addition to his past drug peddling, Harvey is incarcerated for the murder of Natasha Blakeman. In order to make Harvey seem innocent, the appeal would include demonstrating to the courts that Sam Blakeman’s (Jude Riordan) mother was murdered by someone else.

Sarah’s birthday is early the following week, and Adam is excited to see her helping Damon move his belongings into the apartment.

Then, Sarah strikes him again, telling him it’s time they spoke about getting a divorce.

Trying not to cry, Adam tells Sarah that he wants the apartment sold because he doesn’t want Damon to continue living in the place that used to be his.

Afterwards, Adam pays Harvey a visit and goes over the reasons for his appeal, emphasising that the only way to guarantee success is to attribute Natasha’s murder to someone else.

Harvey then gives Adam a call and tells him that John Perry, a guy, is ready to confess.

When Adam finds John in Weatherfield General Hospital, he is shocked to learn that he is a cancer patient.

Adam sticks to the plan in spite of his astonishment, listening to John discuss his confession as they make their way to the police station at the end of the week.

What will happen to Adam, however, if this appeal is unsuccessful?

If it all goes wrong, will Harvey receive his comeuppance?
