Coronation Street fans gush over Billy star’s ‘beautiful little family’ after crying they’re ‘not ready’

After sobbing because they’re “not ready” for Daniel Brocklebank’s most recent scenes with co-star Peter Ash, Coronation Street fans have been fawning over his “beautiful little family.”

The actor, who is well-known for his role as Billy Mayhew in the ITV soap opera, is presently working on a tough plot point with his on-screen spouse Peter, who portrays Paul Foreman. As viewers are aware, Paul received a motor neurone disease diagnosis the previous year.

Since then, the couple has accelerated their plans to tie the knot. They did so in heartfelt but exuberant scenes last year, following Paul’s devastating diagnosis of a fatal disease that affects the brain and spinal cord and his short six- to twelve-month survival time.

For months, viewers have been following the poignant plot, which includes Paul’s devastating decline. In the Corrie episode airing on Wednesday, March 20, Paul’s new personal assistant came to look after him while Billy was away. However, when the PA revealed that she often took care of much older patients, Paul became a little worried.

Billy went out and left the PA alone in Paul’s apartment despite his concerns. While making Paul some cheese crisps, she was chattering away, and the PA kept asking him to repeat himself since she couldn’t understand him. Billy returned at the same time, saw the embarrassing moment, and made a hasty attempt to diffuse the situation.

Billy lied to Paul, telling him that his speech wasn’t failing and that he couldn’t break his heart, when Paul questioned Billy about it. Billy later told Summer Spellman that he was afraid to tell Paul the truth, but she encouraged him to do so, and Billy agreed to discuss it with Paul’s speech therapist at their upcoming appointment.

Fans of Corrie were moved by the moments, as evidenced by their social media comments. Says @Momrocks50: “Paul isn’t ready. He did a fantastic job acting and making his point, #corrie.” “Paul’s death is getting closer, I’m not ready #Corrie,” echoed @RyanTheSoapking. “Oh no, Paul’s speech is deteriorating #Corrie,” tweeted @OX0X0X0.

Fans became even more emotional when Dan posted a happy photo of himself, Peter, and Summer actor Harriet Bibby on Instagram on Thursday (March 21), showing the on-screen family enjoying lunch together. The soap star shared the adorable photo of the three of them, writing, “Gorgeous little Thursday lunch with my TV family.”

“Aww, lovely photo of the three of you,” wrote @lucyam37. As a reply, @calmer_boutique22 said, “What a lovely picture of you 3.” “Look at you guys fantastic photo, hope you enjoyed,” tweeted @s.dukes571. Added by @mckee1362: “Nice picture of you guys. I will miss you, Paul.”
