In recent EastEnders scenes, Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) has been tampering with the medicine of his unwell daughter Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green). Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) was shocked to discover this.
She is not the only one, however, as in later episodes, Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) becomes concerned due to Dean’s actions.
A minor component of Dean’s scheme to hold Jean accountable for Jade’s deteriorating health was convincing Harvey that Jean wasn’t feeling well. In later scenes, Harvey confides in Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) about his worries over Jean.
Harvey convinces Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) to invite Jade after organising an Easter egg hunt for the kids. This way, he can monitor Jade and get confirmation that she is recovering.
Harvey is sceptical, nevertheless, since Dean responds poorly when he learns that she is at No. 31.
Harvey does not spare any time in approaching Dean when the latter uploads a defamatory statement about him on an internet community website.
With the support of Honey and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick and Emma Barton), who attest to his integrity, Harvey quickly makes a vow to find out exactly what Dean is doing to Jade.
Although Dean’s post has a significant influence on the community, it doesn’t go as planned. Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), who exposes some hard facts about Dean’s actions, quickly gives him a dressing down at Peggy’s and persuades him to remove the post.
After that, Dean goes to No. 45 to sell Cindy and Ian Beale (Michelle Collins and Adam Woodyatt) his portion of Beale’s Eels. He then tells Jade that he has arranged for them both to go to New York.
Is it possible that Harvey’s suspicions may force Dean to permanently leave Walford?
