“Like nothing I’ve ever felt.”
Oliver Mellor, a former cast member of Coronation Street, has disclosed that he and Rhian Sugden from Celebrity Big Brother had their first child together.
Following eight rounds of IVF therapy, the married couple announced last year that they were expecting a child. Oliver has since revealed that Rhian gave birth to a son.
Oliver reflected on their journey and shared a series of images on Instagram, one of which included their infant. He said, “At one point I thought it might never happen.”
“Our IVF journey has taken 5 years so this post is a little later than anticipated,” he stated in his post. “I once believed it might never occur. I now see why new parents gush, even if I’ve never really understood it before. Everything made clear at once.
“I now understand what my parents meant all those times I took their declarations of love for me for granted. Isn’t it a little overwhelming? this profound, pure love-filled emotion. This child that we have produced. Like nothing I’ve ever felt, and connected by blood,” he said.
“I hope these words resonate with you if you’re still reading and you’re a parent. If you’re still trying, I understand how difficult it may be. It’s quite difficult! I hope and pray that this gives you the strength to press on.
“8 lbs. 7 oz. baby boy Mellor born. Not yet given a name. Mom is also doing really well.”
Many good wishes have been sent for the pair in the comments section. One fan wrote: “Happy for you both, Oli! He’s gorgeous! Congratulations!” Savour the fresh bubble of xxx.”
Another said, “Congratulations to you both – the happiest news,” while a third remarked, “This one truly gives me hope!!” Congrats to you both! Your newborn boy is really beautiful! I’m happy to learn that @rhiansuggers is also doing well xxx.”
Oliver, who portrayed Dr. Matt Carter on Coronation Street, said earlier how he found out Rhian was expecting a child to Hello! Magazine: “She called out, ‘Oh my God, I’m pregnant.'”
