In recent EastEnders scenes, Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) has found himself in a lot of problems after heedlessly accepting a loan from unpleasant Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry).

Since his ex-wife Jo (Vicki Michelle) showed up and wanted £50,000 to stay quiet about his bigamy, Rocky’s funds have been nearly nonexistent.

Fortunately, blushing bride Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) was willing to support her partner and provide the money since she thought Rocky would put in the effort to repay it.

Rocky’s propensity to gambling has prevented him from making loan payments, though, and as a result, his debt has accumulated.

When pushed to the brink, Rocky had the brilliant notion to burn down Kathy’s café in order to file an insurance claim.

Rocky thought it was the ideal scheme. It would not only help Kathy repay her for the money she provided Jo, but it would also enable him to pay off his obligations to Nish and offer Kathy the chance to freshen up the entire home.

What he hadn’t anticipated was for his brother Peter (Thomas Law) to go after him, for Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) to notice the fire and try to put it out, or for all three of them to wind up in the hospital.

Furthermore, he had not anticipated his wife Kathy being detained for his offense.

After being grilled by Michelle Collins’ character Cindy Beale for starting the fire, Kathy is subsequently arrested by the police to be questioned.

Unaware that she is completely innocent, Kathy regrets declining a solicitor after a demanding night of questioning.

In the meantime, Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), who knew full well that Rocky had a scheme, confronts his partner and insists on telling the truth in order to save his marriage.

Will Rocky spill the beans to save Kathy as he makes his way to the police station? Or will he allow her to be the victim of his ignorance?

Will Kathy ever realize that she had nothing to do with it?
