Since discovering she has cancer, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) of Emmerdale fears more that she will die than that she will carry the gene to Aaron (Danny Miller), one of her closest friends.

Aaron was shocked to find that he actually carries the defective cancer gene when she forced him to get tested for it.

However, Aaron choked and assured her he was alright when it came to telling Chas about it and seeing her crushed and in misery after her double mastectomy, not being ready to face it himself.

Now that delicate Chas discovers the truth about his own cancer fight, that lie is going to bite him in the ass.

Liam (Jonny McPherson) is making a lot of effort to maintain Aaron’s secret in spite of Chas’ persistent probing and domineering style. He seizes the chance to get out of her questioning, but not before unintentionally giving Chas cause for concern.

Chas takes matters into her own hands and confronts Aaron with the results of the gene test. Unfortunately, he is betrayed by his habitual resting bitch face. Chas gets all the information she needs from a slight flash in his eyes.

Now that the secret is known, though, Aaron experiences a trigger. He can’t control his feelings and is overcome with rage and denial. Aaron searches for someone to vent his frustrations on, and he finds Liam in typical Aaron fashion.

As a result, there is only violence, and Liam suffers greatly. Chas asks hesitantly if Aaron is to blame after noticing the doctor has some serious injuries.

Liam attempts valiantly to stop her from going straight to her son, but he is forced to tell the truth. Liam gives her a heartfelt push to adopt a supportive stance as they enjoy a moment.

The strategy succeeds in spite of all odds. After Chas breaks through Aaron’s haughty exterior, he eventually admits to his worries that having the defective gene feels like a death sentence. Has he only recently started to fight cancer?
